A few words from Free From Fusion

You might have guessed from some of my previous posts that I am a massive fan of Italian food and especially pizza so when I saw this pizza dough mix in Asda from Isabel’s I thought it was worth trying. I have made my own base before which is easy enough but a ready made mixture is a lot more accessible to everyone, even to those who aren’t too confident in the kitchen.

How we cooked

You get 2 sachets of dough mix which is enough to make 4 good size pizzas. As you might expect, it was really simple to use. Just add water, egg and oil and mix before rolling out. They suggest to pre-bake and add sauce so it doesn’t bubble which is good advice as on my first attempt I ignored these tips and they came out looking ever so slightly deformed.

The pizzas only take 25 minutes to cook in the oven and the result is a thin and crispy base that tastes deliciously fresh and is surprisingly strong even when piled high with toppings. Their website also suggested using the mixture to make bagels, flatbreads, crepes and pasties, not quite sure how this would work as the dough turned pretty crispy in the oven but you may want to give it a go! If you do, please let me know how you got on.

The range

Looking at the range from Isabel’s there are quite a few mixes I would like to try out, especially the gluten free batter mix so I could make my own proper fish and chips! After using this mix I have seen how easy they are to use and the results were great so I wouldn’t hesitate to try another.
